How to Get Sin and Offerings
Sin and Offerings are the two alignment resources that gate every class in The Veil. Most trainers want 30 of one; Marauder wants 15 of each. The fastest recorded method is not killing anything special — it is looting the Weeping Crypt for two specific items and server hopping.
The short version
Idol of Hatred → Sin. Stone of Accord → Offerings. Both spawn in lootable rooms in the Weeping Crypt. Loot the rooms, server hop, repeat. Then trade the one you do not need for the one you do, one for one, in the game's Discord.
What they are for
Every class trainer checks an alignment gate before anything else. Sin classes and Offering classes do not share progress, so the first real decision in The Veil is which side you are farming — not which class sounds best.
- Sin: Duskwing, Cultist, Gladiator, Hive Disciple.
- Offerings: Crusader, Sky Sentinel, Florist / Verdant.
- Both: Marauder, at 15 each instead of 30 of one.
You can hold more than one class quest at a time, so it is worth accepting every trainer you pass while the resource is still building. Full requirements and payments are on the class guide.
Every method, ranked
| Method | Gives | Recorded rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crypt looting + server hop | Both | Best recorded rate | Stone of Accord grants Offerings; Idol of Hatred grants Sin. |
| Explorer NPCs in the maze | Both | 1 per encounter | Complete the rescue for an Offering, let them die for a Sin. |
| Discord 1-for-1 trade | Converts | Instant | Trade the item you do not need for the one you do. |
| Bounties on evil players | Offerings | About 3 | Recorded as unreliable — targets usually travel with a partner. |
1. Crypt runs — the main method
Go to the Weeping Crypt and loot it for two items: Stone of Accord, which grants Offerings when used, and Idol of Hatred, which grants Sin. Clear the rooms you can reach quickly, then server hop and do it again rather than waiting for anything to respawn.
- Learn the room shapes, not a route. The recorded advice is that spawns are recognisable once you have run it a few times, and that recognition — not speed — is what makes the loop fast.
- Check the back area, but do not count on it. One recording puts finding an item there at roughly 50/50.
- Skip the elevator to the big top room. It takes too long and drains sanity for what it returns. Sanity reaching zero is a death, and death costs prestige.
- Server hop instead of clearing everything. The loop is short runs across many servers, not one thorough run.
If you are farming for Cultist, this is the same location as its 75-enemy quest — accept that quest before your first run so the kills count.
2. Explorer NPCs — one resource, your choice which
Explorer NPCs spawn around the maze and blow a whistle when they need help. This is the only source where you pick which resource you get:
- Accept and complete the rescue → 1 Offering.
- Let the Explorer die → 1 Sin.
The recorded shortcut is that at night this resolves itself quickly, because nearby mobs aggro the NPC rather than you. One creator reports picking up roughly five or six of either while farming other things. Treat it as a supplement to crypt runs — if you hear a whistle near the crypt, it is worth the detour; hunting for Explorers on purpose is not.
3. The one-for-one trade — the real time saver
The single biggest mistake is using the item you do not need. If you are going for a Sin class, a Stone of Accord in your inventory is not a wasted drop — it is currency. Stack them up and trade them in the game's Discord server for Idols of Hatred, one for one. One creator reports this saving about an hour and a half in a single session, and a written guide independently records the same 1:1 rate as the commonly used trade.
The 1:1 rate is a community convention, not an in-game exchange. Nothing enforces it. Confirm what you are handing over before you hand it over, and do not treat a quoted rate as a guarantee.
4. Bounties — recorded as the weak option
Bounties reward roughly three Offerings for killing a flagged evil player. The recorded verdict is blunt: targets usually travel with someone else and you end up dying instead. Since death also costs a prestige level, this method can cost you more than it pays. It is listed here for completeness, not as a recommendation.
Farm it alongside something else
None of these are worth a dedicated session. The pattern every source converges on is stacking activities: run the crypt for items, take Explorer encounters you pass, and pick up both resources while progressing normally. The Unfinished boss also drops Idols of Hatred and the Offering item along with blue-rarity gear, which makes the prestige farm an alignment farm at the same time once you can reach it.
