Disease Era Walkthrough
Follow the active quest marker from the runner’s opening job to the sealed altar fight. The Era of Disease ends when The Festering Wound is defeated and the next door opens.
The route in one line
Runner quest → 30 enemies → weapon enchant → Stormcaller → runner camp and Ancient Bones → Hiveling route → Suspicious Eye and Beholder → Goblin Warlock event → Fire Essence and Smelter Demon → Festered Meat altar → The Festering Wound → Primordial Era door.
This is a September 8 snapshot assembled from a complete release-week playthrough, current patch reporting and official Roblox boss badges. The game is in beta, and the developers have already changed early costs, spawns and quest waypoints.
Complete Disease Era Progression
A full post-launch progression run showing the first quests, every major Disease Era boss and the transition after The Festering Wound. Use the chapters to match the objective currently shown in your quest log.
Before you start
- Keep a gem and silver for the enchant gate. A September 5 developer patch note set the enchant fee to 100 silver, down from 200 at release. Gem sources and every recorded enchant effect are on the enchanting guide.
- Carry sanity recovery. Ancient Bones and later objectives send you deep enough that a night run can outlast an unprepared inventory.
- Keep boss materials. The recorded route uses the Smoldering Horn for Smelter Demon and Festered Meat at the final altar.
- Contribute in group events. Current patch reporting says boss and mob-event chests require at least 20% contribution to open.
- Do not enter the final arena half-stocked. The Festering Wound encounter seals after it begins.
Complete Disease Era route
- Accept the runner’s opening quest and defeat 30 enemies. Start in the Glade and follow the HUD marker instead of pushing into an unrelated maze branch. Night provides more activity in release-week runs, but sanity pressure makes daytime the safer first clear.
- Enchant a weapon, then defeat The Stormcaller. Bring a gem to the town enchanter and pay the displayed fee. The complete progression video places The Stormcaller after the opening upgrade sequence; use weaving and movement rather than trading hits. Its official badge is STORM CALMED.
- Reach the runner camp and complete Ancient Bones. Continue toward the deeper route and check Information → Bestiary if the target is unclear. Release-week reports place Ancient Bones in the deep labyrinth at night. A September 6 patch reportedly added waypoint help and increased bone spawns, so older videos can look much slower than the current quest.
- Work through the Hiveling route. Hiveling Titan appears around this stretch and its chest is a reported source of Festered Meat. Keep the material for the finale. The official ROAR SILENCED badge confirms Hiveling Titan as a named encounter, but the active quest marker should decide whether you need the fight immediately.
- Recover the Suspicious Eye in Weeping Crypt and face The Beholder. The recorded route obtains the eye from a fallen skeleton NPC, then finds the runner deeper in the crypt. The eye is used for the eye-themed encounter; EYE GOUGED is The Beholder’s official defeat badge.
- Watch for the Goblin Warlock invasion. The Glade world event is announced in chat and brings the Goblin Warlock with its army. Join the group, but do not assume participation guarantees a chest. Roblox’s official badge text places this army in the Glade.
- Farm Fire Essence in Scorch Basin. Continue the quest chain into the lava region and defeat its fire enemies until the required essence drops. Community runs disagree on how quickly it appears, so treat any quoted drop chance as an estimate rather than a guarantee.
- Use the Smoldering Horn to summon Smelter Demon. Prepare at the campfire near the recorded arena, then use the quest material. The boss changes appearance during the fight; preserve stamina for movement instead of assuming the first phase is the whole encounter.
- Take Festered Meat to the final altar. Follow the quest marker toward the descent beneath the maze. Restock before placing the material: the arena is presented as a point of no return once The Festering Wound is summoned. The standalone boss guide covers the attack cues.
- Defeat The Festering Wound and enter the opened door. Jump the slam, evade its teleport arrival, dodge the beams and weave the lunge. The official DISEASE PURIFIED badge explicitly ties this defeat to ending the Era of Disease. The newly opened door is the completion check and leads into the Primordial Era.
Which bosses are actually required?
The complete run includes The Puppeteer before Stormcaller, but Puppeteer is a secret encounter rather than the opening story gate. Hiveling Titan and Goblin Warlock are progression-relevant because they appear on the route and can provide materials or event progress; whether your current character must defeat them at that exact moment is determined by the live quest objective. Stormcaller, Beholder, Smelter Demon and The Festering Wound are the clearest named boss checkpoints in the recorded mainline.
How to know the era is complete
Do not use a loot drop as the completion test. The reliable checkpoint is: The Festering Wound is defeated, the DISEASE PURIFIED achievement is awarded, and the next door opens. Passing through that gate moves progression toward the Primordial Era; the separate official Unveil The Primordial badge describes entering the Pale.
If the quest marker stops helping
- Toggle the central quest indicator and reselect the active main quest.
- Check the Bestiary before hunting a named creature or material.
- For Ancient Bones, confirm that you are in a current server with the September 6 waypoint changes.
- For a world event, wait for its chat announcement rather than searching an empty fixed arena.
- For the finale, confirm Festered Meat is in your inventory before making the descent.
