How to Get Duskwing
Duskwing's trainer is Asmodeus, and he stands on top of the statue at The Lone Pillar only at night. Bring 30 Sin, kill 100 mobs and pay 1,000 silver. Finding nobody at the pillar in daylight is the expected result, not a sign you are in the wrong place.
Duskwing requirements
30 Sin to start, a 100-mob kill quest and a 1,000-silver payment. The trainer is Asmodeus at The Lone Pillar, on the statue, after dark. Carry a Night Call potion so a daytime server does not cost you the trip.
These numbers come from September 8 and September 10 gameplay captures, not a published developer table. Some articles print 20 Sin and 500 silver instead; every recording checked so far shows 30 and 1,000. Read the trainer prompt in your own server before grinding to a fixed number.
All Eight Class Trainer Routes — Duskwing at 8:46
A September 8 route recording covering all eight class trainers. The Duskwing chapter shows the night-only Asmodeus spawn on top of The Lone Pillar statue.
Unlock route
- Collect 30 Sin and 1,000 silver. Duskwing is a pure Sin class, so Offerings do nothing for it. If you are sitting on Stone of Accords you do not need, the Sin and Offering guide covers the one-for-one Discord trade that converts them.
- Buy Night Call potions at Echo Hold. They can be bought rather than only found, which matters twice on this route: once to make the trainer appear, and again for the kill quest below.
- Travel to The Lone Pillar. Save the waypoint when you arrive. You will almost certainly make this trip more than once.
- Look up. Asmodeus stands on top of the statue, not at its base. Both recordings find him there only after dark; in daylight the pillar is simply empty.
- Accept the quest and read the live counter. The recorded assignment is 100 mob kills. Accept it before you start farming, because kills made earlier do not retroactively count.
- Farm 100 kills in The Cyst. Both captures farm the count there with a Night Call potion running. The density is the point — 100 is a long grind anywhere else.
- Return at night and pay 1,000 silver. Asmodeus is still night-only for the hand-in, so keep one potion in reserve for the return trip.
If Asmodeus is not there
- Check the time of day first. Daylight is the single most common reason the pillar looks empty.
- Look at the top of the statue rather than around its base.
- Drink a Night Call potion instead of waiting out the server's own cycle.
- If the quest will not start, confirm you are holding 30 Sin and not 30 Offerings.
- If the kill counter is not moving, make sure you accepted the quest before entering The Cyst.
What the class does
Duskwing is the mobility and escape class. Its kit is an ethereal dash, a punishing counter and a grappling aura that closes distance, which is why launch-week discussion rates it for safety in PvE and for combo entry in PvP rather than raw damage.
| Crow's Flight | An ethereal dash that recordings describe as turning into crows or bats. |
|---|---|
| Blacklash | A counter that blinds the attacker and drains their sanity if you take more than five damage during the animation. |
| Shadow Grasp | A grappling tendril aura that pulls you to a target and grants brief invincibility. |
The damage numbers are genuinely unsettled. Two sources put the tendril's boost at 50% against the target you latch onto, while a separate 75% figure is attached to the aura passive. Read your own tooltip instead of planning a build around either number.
Is it called Duskwing or Nightshade?
Both names are in circulation for the same trainer and the same kit. A written guide calls the class Nightshade; the September 10 player reached for that name on camera too, then admitted he was not sure what the trainer was called. The in-game prompt is the only thing worth trusting here. We use Duskwing because that is what the class database and the trainer route recordings use most consistently.
Build fit
Duskwing solves positioning, not damage or healing. It pairs best with a race that covers what the kit leaves open — durability from Obelite if you intend to use Blacklash as a real counter rather than an escape, or casting support if you plan to hybridise. Because it is a Sin class, it also shares a farming route with Cultist: the crypt runs that produce Idols of Hatred feed both unlocks. See the class comparison for the PvE and PvP split, and prestige for why an escape tool is worth more than it looks once you have levels to lose.
