The Veil Weapons Guide

A weapon is more than its base damage. Passives, casts, active abilities, gems and your race/class bonuses decide whether an item actually fits the build.

What is the best weapon?

There is no evidence-backed universal best weapon yet. Compare the current item's active and passive effects, then favor the damage type your race and class already support. A lower-rarity item with the right effect can beat a rarer mismatch.

How weapon abilities work

Launch-week gameplay shows weapons carrying different layers of effects. Open an item and read every line before judging it by rarity alone:

Rarer drops were observed carrying more abilities, but rarity is not a build score. Read the effects first, then test the cooldown and damage against the same enemy before replacing an upgraded item.

Why a legendary weapon may not work: Mastery Oaths

A September 7 route recording shows legendary weapons requiring the matching Mastery Oath before they will answer the player. The demonstrated paths are Melee, Magic and Summoner. This is separate from your class: a Gladiator or Crusader choice does not automatically unlock a legendary melee weapon.

MasteryRecorded trainer routeWhat was verified
MeleeValor, the War Emperor, in the ColiseumHand over a legendary melee weapon, then deal 25,000 melee damage in the recorded build
MagicThunder in the blue-mushroom areaThe trainer and route were shown; the current hand-in and quest number were not independently confirmed
SummonerA sky-area trainer shown at the start of the routeThe category and trainer were shown, but the current requirement remains unverified

If you change build direction, the same recording places Kharvos on the castle's second floor toward the back-left and uses him to switch Mastery Oaths. Do not hand over a rare weapon or assume a reset price from an undated guide: read each current NPC prompt first.

Only the recorded Melee number is stated here.

Magic and Summoner quest costs or damage targets were not clear enough across independent current sources. The beta can also change any trainer requirement without changing the weapon tooltip.

How to get Spellweaver

Two independent September 8–9 recordings show the same Spellweaver exchange. Reach the hidden library in the Pale, bring 100 Offerings and hand the wizard one legendary weapon. The exchange consumes the weapon you offer, so do not bring a legendary that your current build still needs.

  1. Prepare Melee Mastery, 100 Offerings and a spare legendary. The newer route identifies Spellweaver as a rapier that requires Melee Mastery.
  2. Travel through the Pale to the hidden library. The route is long enough that the recording uses radar coordinates instead of a short landmark chain.
  3. Unlock the nearby waypoint. The location is labeled 20 Shelves in the recorded build; activate it before leaving so a return trip does not repeat the full Pale route.
  4. Speak to the wizard and complete the exchange. The prompt trades the legendary weapon and 100 Offerings for Spellweaver.

The recorded kit includes a movement attack, a multi-target teleport, tracking projectiles and a detonation that can hold a target in place. Those effects make it look strongest in PvP setups, but damage, stun duration and ability names remain beta values rather than an official permanent specification.

This is an expensive, irreversible hand-in.

Both recordings agree on the exchange, but neither is official documentation. Read the live wizard prompt and confirm the selected legendary before accepting.

An early rare weapon route

A launch-week walkthrough recorded a Lost Recipe Book quest in Verdant Hollow. The route used 10 silver to obtain the book and another 100 silver to finish the exchange. The reward was a rare weapon with a short regeneration skill in that server build.

  1. Enter Verdant Hollow from the village. Speak with the quest giver and accept the request for the lost recipe book.
  2. Buy the requested book. The recorded launch route charged 10 silver at the second NPC.
  3. Return to finish the exchange. The walkthrough paid another 100 silver before receiving the weapon.
  4. Inspect the reward before upgrading it. Another recording called the reward Keyblade and showed different summary numbers, so verify the current tooltip rather than relying on launch footage.
Community-observed route.

The quest name, costs and reward effects are not confirmed in official documentation and may already differ after a beta patch.

How to choose between two weapons

  1. Match the damage type. Cast-focused bonuses want magic attacks; summon bonuses do not automatically improve a melee weapon.
  2. Compare the whole kit. Count useful passives and actives, not just the rarity color.
  3. Include the upgrade. A useful gem or enchant can change the practical winner.
  4. Test on one repeatable target. Compare the same enemy, range and ability cycle in the current server build.

Where weapons come from

Recorded launch runs show weapons from boss drops, ordinary maze enemies, chests and quests. The in-game Information tab includes a bestiary with enemy drops, making it more reliable for a current farming target than an undated external list.

Observed mechanics were cross-checked against the Deepshaken beginner walkthrough, the Lost Recipe Book recording and a separate launch session. Mastery Oath routes were checked against Good Game Gaming's trainer and Kharvos walkthrough. The Spellweaver hand-in was independently recorded by realDani and Its_Nin; their routes were collected September 9. These sources are gameplay evidence, not permanent official stats.
